京都 2005.03.28 () - ごしょ and Dinner with Lara and Matt

Before I left the guesthouse on this day, I asked えいじ for a recommendation on a restaurant in the area for Lara, Matt, and I to go to in the evening. He suggested しんきろう, and drew me a little map. I tried to find it on the way out, but their sign is in calligraphic kanji, so I didn't find it at that point.

My trip was to the ごしょ. I forgot my camera, so I bought a 1000, 40 shot disposable camera at Family Mart. I wanted to go to a coffee shop or sweets shop or similar, but for some reason all of the ones I saw in the area were closed. So instead I had a Mos burger for lunch, as I didn't have time for anything else.

The palace was nice, especially the gardens. I mostly ignored the guide, and used the time to take pictures instead. I used my 40 shots just about right; I hope they turn out.

Got a couple donuts on the way back for later, and looked for アニメ art books, without much luck. Then I seeked out the restaurant that えいじ had recommended, しんきろう, making the most use of うかがいますが to date. While I was standing outside of the place memorizing what it looked like, one of the people from inside came out and gave me the restaurant's めいし.

Lara and Matt met me at the guesthouse, and we went to しんきろう, but they didn't have room for 3 people without a reservation. So instead we walked around awhile, and ended up going to a Chinese restaurant on 東山. I think Matt paid the bulk of the bill... At any rate, it was fun. After dinner, I walked them back to the Tour Club, and then went back to the guesthouse and went to bed. They were going to be in town until Saturday or so, and we planned to meet again later in the week.
